PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Bring traditional craftsmanship to your fishing gear with the Rosewood Trail Damascus Steel Fillet Knife – Handmade Fishing Knife, a distinctive 13-inch fixed-blade knife combining an elongated Damascus steel blade, sculpted rosewood handle, and handcrafted leather sheath.
Designed with the classic proportions associated with fishing and fillet knives, the Rosewood Trail features a long, narrow blade profile that provides excellent reach for fish preparation and other controlled cutting tasks. More than simply an outdoor tool, its visible Damascus pattern and natural rosewood handle give the knife the character of a handmade piece built for anglers who appreciate traditional materials.
With an overall length of approximately 13 inches, this knife has a substantial yet streamlined profile. The long blade provides the reach expected from a dedicated fishing knife while the shaped wooden handle offers a comfortable gripping area.
Distinctive Damascus Steel Blade
The centerpiece of the Rosewood Trail is its Damascus steel blade.
Across the blade are flowing layered patterns that give Damascus steel its instantly recognizable appearance. Instead of the uniform surface of a conventional stainless blade, the layered pattern produces individual lines and waves running throughout the steel.
This makes every knife visually distinctive.
The contrast becomes particularly noticeable along the long, narrow blade, where the Damascus pattern can be appreciated from the ricasso all the way toward the fine point.
For anglers who want their equipment to combine function with traditional craftsmanship, this blade gives the Rosewood Trail an unmistakably premium appearance.
Long Fillet-Style Blade Profile
A fishing knife benefits from reach, control, and a blade geometry appropriate for precise cutting.
The Rosewood Trail uses a long and narrow fillet-style profile rather than the wide geometry typically seen on hunting or bushcraft knives.
The narrow tip provides access to tighter areas, while the extended cutting edge provides useful working length when processing fish.
Its profile also creates an elegant appearance, making this model equally attractive to collectors of handmade fishing knives.
Natural Rosewood Handle
The blade is paired with a richly colored rosewood handle.
Rosewood provides warm reddish-brown and dark natural tones that complement the layered appearance of Damascus steel particularly well.
The handle is shaped with pronounced curves and finger contours rather than being left as a simple rectangular block. This gives the knife its distinctive silhouette while providing a substantial gripping surface.
Decorative metallic pins add additional contrast and reinforce the traditional handmade appearance.
Because wood is a natural material, individual pieces can display variations in grain, shade, and figure. These differences help make each handmade knife visually unique.
Handmade Fishing Knife Character
Mass-produced fishing knives often rely heavily on molded synthetic handles and uniform blade finishes.
The Rosewood Trail takes a more traditional approach.
The combination of Damascus steel, natural rosewood, decorative pins, hand-shaped contours, and stitched leather gives the knife the appearance and character expected from custom-style cutlery.
It is particularly suited to customers looking for something more distinctive than an ordinary fishing knife.
Whether purchased for personal fishing equipment, an outdoor collection, or as a gift for an angler, its craftsmanship makes it memorable.
13-Inch Overall Length
The knife measures approximately:
Overall Length: 13 inches
This generous overall length provides the elongated proportions associated with larger fishing and fillet knives.
Its blade-to-handle balance also creates a streamlined appearance rather than the bulky proportions found on general-purpose outdoor knives.
Brown Leather Sheath Included
The photograph also shows a fitted brown leather sheath designed around the knife's elongated profile.
Traditional stitching runs around the perimeter, while the rich brown leather complements the rosewood handle.
The sheath provides protection for the blade during normal storage and transportation while completing the knife's traditional outdoor presentation.
For long-term care, the knife should be cleaned and thoroughly dried before being placed back into its leather sheath.
An Excellent Gift for Anglers
The Rosewood Trail also makes a distinctive gift for fishermen and outdoor enthusiasts.
Its combination of patterned Damascus steel and natural wood gives it more visual character than an ordinary production fishing knife.
It can be considered for occasions such as:
- Father's Day
- Christmas
- Birthdays
- Anniversaries
- Fishing trip gifts
- Retirement gifts
- Groomsmen gifts
- Gifts for fishermen
- Gifts for outdoorsmen
Its handcrafted styling also makes it suitable for buyers building a collection of traditional fishing and outdoor knives.
Caring for Your Damascus Fillet Knife
Proper care will help preserve both the Damascus blade and natural rosewood handle.
After use, clean the blade carefully and dry it completely. Do not leave moisture, fish residue, or saltwater on the steel.
For additional protection, periodically apply a very light coating of food-safe mineral oil or suitable knife-care oil to the blade.
Avoid dishwashers and prolonged soaking.
The rosewood handle should also be kept away from prolonged moisture. Occasional treatment with an appropriate wood-conditioning product can help maintain its natural appearance.
The leather sheath should remain clean and dry, and the knife should never be stored wet inside the sheath.
With appropriate maintenance, the Rosewood Trail can retain the distinctive appearance that makes a handmade Damascus fishing knife special.

I'm very pleased with this tent after having it for two years I've been in the rain I've been in the snow and it's held up pretty good but the cover that covers it did not hold up that good but the tent is perfect
Really enjoy the awning. Easy setup and got a little rain on the first trip. Easy to adjust for the run off. Very happy with the purchase!
I am one of the earliest customers Astrodome, I bought it and didn’t set it up for almost a year. By the time we set it up, we were blown away by the beauty of this space we purchased it on a mountain ledge in our glamping retreat in Lake County California two hours north of San as much as I love this space there are definitely some challenges with it in our location. It might work better than other locations, but we have had problems with the stakes, slipping and collapsing in the ground beneath and with the prevailing winds, it did stay up and it stays dry, even in tornadoes, but because the wind hits it from One Direction coming from the coast, this is definitely been a challenge for us we are going to try adding some weight inside it. The guests absolutely love this space keep in mind that with those skylights it’s going to get hot in the summertime but what’s nice is in the winter. It heats up almost passive solar. it’s also wonderful with a woodstove. A very cost effective alternative to a geodesic dome! If you want to experience it stay in ours, on Hipcamp.
I bought one of these at Scheels and absolutely love it. Great design, has everything you would ever need in a first aid/trauma/survival kit. Have one in all of my vehicles now. These guys truly thought of everything
A complete coverage of possibilities for my project and needs.
I love my new tent stove. Costumer service was also attentive and great to work with. Thank you.
The mounts work perfect with the truck bed rack I have on. Thank you for the excellent line of communication. You guys never kept me in the dark. I will ordering from you guys again.
I was wondering if you are able to sell just two extra mounts or do they just come in a set of six.
The color was even better in person. For well, looks well made and was easy to fold up and put into the carrying case. There was a bunch of colored plastic pieces from manufacturing on the mat, but I was able to vacuum it right up so be careful pulling it out.
Although it took a little extra time the delay very of my OVS Truck Topper was great. Good price too!
Fully engaged with customer, helped me get the crossbar I needed on time!
Product worked out great for my rack setup.
Order was delayed due to manufacturer delays, but my questions were answered and expectations on timing reset along the way. Cross bars were in perfect condition and work great!
I was in the market for a 3/4 length roof rack for my 4Runner as I wanted an upgrade from the OEM rails but still wanted to retain a somewhat OEM look. I am very happy that I went with the Sherpa Needle. It is a high quality rack with the best install method out of all the racks I looked at. I like that it is designed so you don’t have to deal with a mess of silicone when mounting. It is also nice that the fairing sits just above the roof instead of resting on it so that the paint does not get scratched. I was worried about wind noise because of this but I am happy to say there is no added wind noise at all.
I am also glad I purchased this rack through Live More Outside. I shopped around and they had the best pricing considering I was able to get a discount code, shipping was free, and they don’t charge sales tax. Shipping was prompt and I received the rack sooner than I thought I would.
Overall I am very pleased with this purchase and I will definitely come back to Live More Outside as I continue to build my rig.
By far one of the best customer service! Nathan has been a huge help on any questions and quick to respond! Live more outside is top notch. We are getting ready to hit our first outing with our new RTT. Cant wait to test it out. We also just purchased a 270 awning. I found one on another website but wanted to keep my business with live more outside. Nathan price matched and beat their price! We will continue to keep our business with this company!
