PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The Jimping Bushcraft Bowie Knife is built for hard use in the field, not just for looking sharp on a shelf. It measures 7-8 inches overall, forged from Damascus steel with a swirling random pattern running the length of the blade. This is a full-tang Bowie, so the steel runs straight through the handle for strength under pressure.
Jimping cuts into the spine near the bolster, giving your thumb a grip point during detail cuts or heavy pressure work. It's a small feature, but it changes how the knife handles when you're carving, batoning, or working close to the tip.
The bolster carries the same Damascus pattern as the blade, tying the whole knife together visually instead of using a plain metal fitting. Below it, the handle is built from solid black Micarta, a material chosen for its grip and resistance to moisture. A brass spacer ring with detailed rivets breaks up the black handle sections, adding a finished, layered look.
This knife ships with a black leather sheath. The center panel carries a cross-hatch embossed texture, stitched with cream thread along the seams. A belt loop and snap closure with a metal concho keep the knife secure and easy to carry.
This is a working bushcraft tool first. The full tang construction and Damascus blade hold up to batoning, carving, and general camp tasks. The jimping adds control during detail work, and the Micarta handle stays grippy even when wet. It also stands out as a display piece, thanks to the layered Damascus pattern carried through the blade and bolster.
Every Jimping Bushcraft Bowie Knife from JW Steel Crafts is forged in-house, then fitted with Micarta and finished by hand before it ships. The Damascus pattern is never identical twice, so the blade you receive is genuinely one of a kind.
Jimping Bushcraft Bowie Knife at JW Steel Crafts with this exact Damascus swirl pattern, brass rivet spacer detailing, and included leather sheath.
The History Behind This Blade
Damascus steel dates back centuries, prized for its strength and the distinct pattern created by folding layers of steel together. Bowie knives trace their roots to early American frontier tools, built for utility in rugged conditions. Micarta became a favored handle material for its durability under wet, rough handling. JW Steel Crafts brings all three traditions together in one working blade.
Blade Performance
The Damascus blade holds a sharp, durable edge suited to bushcraft tasks like carving and batoning. Layered steel construction adds strength while keeping the blade responsive in hand. The full tang design means there's no weak point between blade and handle. Jimping near the bolster gives you added control during precision cuts.
Handle Construction
Black Micarta resists moisture and stays grippy in wet or cold conditions. The brass spacer ring adds structure without affecting the knife's balance. Full tang construction keeps the knife solid under repeated heavy use. Each Damascus pattern is unique, so your blade won't match another buyer's exactly.
Best Used For
This Bowie knife suits bushcrafters for carving, batoning, and general camp prep. It also works well for hunters needing a heavy-duty fixed blade in the field. The included leather sheath makes it easy to carry on a belt during long trips. Collectors interested in Damascus Bowie knives will value it as a display piece, too.

I'm very pleased with this tent after having it for two years I've been in the rain I've been in the snow and it's held up pretty good but the cover that covers it did not hold up that good but the tent is perfect
Really enjoy the awning. Easy setup and got a little rain on the first trip. Easy to adjust for the run off. Very happy with the purchase!
I am one of the earliest customers Astrodome, I bought it and didn’t set it up for almost a year. By the time we set it up, we were blown away by the beauty of this space we purchased it on a mountain ledge in our glamping retreat in Lake County California two hours north of San as much as I love this space there are definitely some challenges with it in our location. It might work better than other locations, but we have had problems with the stakes, slipping and collapsing in the ground beneath and with the prevailing winds, it did stay up and it stays dry, even in tornadoes, but because the wind hits it from One Direction coming from the coast, this is definitely been a challenge for us we are going to try adding some weight inside it. The guests absolutely love this space keep in mind that with those skylights it’s going to get hot in the summertime but what’s nice is in the winter. It heats up almost passive solar. it’s also wonderful with a woodstove. A very cost effective alternative to a geodesic dome! If you want to experience it stay in ours, on Hipcamp.
I bought one of these at Scheels and absolutely love it. Great design, has everything you would ever need in a first aid/trauma/survival kit. Have one in all of my vehicles now. These guys truly thought of everything
A complete coverage of possibilities for my project and needs.
I love my new tent stove. Costumer service was also attentive and great to work with. Thank you.
The mounts work perfect with the truck bed rack I have on. Thank you for the excellent line of communication. You guys never kept me in the dark. I will ordering from you guys again.
I was wondering if you are able to sell just two extra mounts or do they just come in a set of six.
The color was even better in person. For well, looks well made and was easy to fold up and put into the carrying case. There was a bunch of colored plastic pieces from manufacturing on the mat, but I was able to vacuum it right up so be careful pulling it out.
Although it took a little extra time the delay very of my OVS Truck Topper was great. Good price too!
Fully engaged with customer, helped me get the crossbar I needed on time!
Product worked out great for my rack setup.
Order was delayed due to manufacturer delays, but my questions were answered and expectations on timing reset along the way. Cross bars were in perfect condition and work great!
I was in the market for a 3/4 length roof rack for my 4Runner as I wanted an upgrade from the OEM rails but still wanted to retain a somewhat OEM look. I am very happy that I went with the Sherpa Needle. It is a high quality rack with the best install method out of all the racks I looked at. I like that it is designed so you don’t have to deal with a mess of silicone when mounting. It is also nice that the fairing sits just above the roof instead of resting on it so that the paint does not get scratched. I was worried about wind noise because of this but I am happy to say there is no added wind noise at all.
I am also glad I purchased this rack through Live More Outside. I shopped around and they had the best pricing considering I was able to get a discount code, shipping was free, and they don’t charge sales tax. Shipping was prompt and I received the rack sooner than I thought I would.
Overall I am very pleased with this purchase and I will definitely come back to Live More Outside as I continue to build my rig.
By far one of the best customer service! Nathan has been a huge help on any questions and quick to respond! Live more outside is top notch. We are getting ready to hit our first outing with our new RTT. Cant wait to test it out. We also just purchased a 270 awning. I found one on another website but wanted to keep my business with live more outside. Nathan price matched and beat their price! We will continue to keep our business with this company!
