PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The Frontier Weaver Bowie Knife – Hand-Forged Damascus Steel & Basketwood Handle combines bold patterned steel with an intricate wooden grip inspired by traditional basket weaving. Measuring approximately 14 inches overall, this handcrafted fixed-blade knife features a substantial 9-inch Damascus steel blade, a woven light-and-dark wood handle, an oval metal guard, and a reddish-brown leather belt sheath.
High-contrast Damascus steel blade
The Frontier Weaver is built around a broad Damascus steel blade displaying flowing layered lines. Dark and bright patterns travel from the point through the ricasso, giving the blade the depth and visual movement associated with handcrafted Damascus steel.
Each patterned blade develops differently. The exact arrangement of lines, waves, rings, and contrasting tones may therefore vary from the product photograph. These variations are normal and help ensure that every Frontier Weaver Bowie has an individual appearance.
Before advertising the blade as hand-forged, confirm that this accurately reflects your production process. The finished appearance in the photograph is consistent with patterned Damascus steel, but the forging method cannot be verified from an image alone.
Traditional Bowie profile
The 9-inch blade features a broad clip-point Bowie profile with a curved belly and defined point. Its proportions create a recognizable Western silhouette while providing a generous surface for the Damascus pattern.
A sculpted finger choil sits beneath the ricasso, creating a clean transition into the guard. The spine and cutting edge taper gradually toward the point, producing a balanced and flowing profile.
With an overall length of approximately 14 inches, the Frontier Weaver is a substantial collector-style Bowie without reaching the oversized proportions of 17-inch models.
Basket-weave wood handle
The handle is the most distinctive element of this Bowie knife. Contrasting light and dark wooden pieces are arranged in an interwoven geometric pattern that resembles traditional basket weaving.
This detailed construction creates a striking three-dimensional effect along the full length of the grip. Alternating tones highlight the individual wood sections and give the handle a carefully assembled custom appearance.
“Basketwood” works well as a product name for this handle style. If it is not the official material name, describe it in the specifications as a basket-weave mixed-wood or mosaic-wood handle.
Natural wood varies in color, grain, texture, and shade. The arrangement and contrast of the woven pattern may also differ slightly between individually handcrafted handles.
Guard and pommel construction
An oval metal guard separates the blade from the grip. Its simple profile frames the woven handle without competing with the Damascus pattern or geometric woodwork.
A rounded metal pommel finishes the rear of the handle. The guard and pommel share a similar finish, creating a coordinated structure around the detailed wooden grip.
Small differences in surface finish may occur between handcrafted pieces and contribute to their individual appearance.
Reddish-brown leather sheath
The knife comes with a reddish-brown leather belt sheath designed for covered storage and traditional vertical carry. Contrasting stitching follows the perimeter and reinforces its handcrafted presentation.
A leather retaining strap with snap closure helps secure the knife. The warm sheath color complements both the dark and light tones of the wooden handle.
Natural leather may vary in shade, grain, markings, texture, and stitching. These differences are expected and should not be treated as imperfections.
Created for collectors and Western enthusiasts
The Frontier Weaver is an attractive option for Bowie knife collectors, Western enthusiasts, outdoorsmen, and buyers who appreciate artistic woodwork.
Its combination of Damascus steel, woven wood, a classic Bowie profile, and leather craftsmanship makes it an impressive display piece. The complete set can also make a memorable birthday, anniversary, retirement, holiday, or Father’s Day gift.
Optional custom engraving
Personalized engraving may be added where adequate surface space is available. Suitable options include names, initials, dates, ranch names, and short commemorative messages.
The final position and scale of the engraving depend on the requested artwork and available blade or sheath space. Slight variations from digital previews are normal because each product is individually finished.
Blade, wood, and leather care
Clean the Damascus blade after handling or use and dry it completely. Apply a thin coat of suitable knife oil or food-safe mineral oil before storage, particularly in humid environments.
Avoid leaving fingerprints, moisture, salt, or acidic materials on the blade. For long-term storage, keep the knife outside its leather sheath because natural leather can retain moisture.
Wipe the wooden handle with a soft, dry cloth. Apply a suitable wood-conditioning oil occasionally if required, but avoid soaking the joined wood sections. Condition the leather sheath with an appropriate leather-care product and store it in a cool, dry location.

I'm very pleased with this tent after having it for two years I've been in the rain I've been in the snow and it's held up pretty good but the cover that covers it did not hold up that good but the tent is perfect
Really enjoy the awning. Easy setup and got a little rain on the first trip. Easy to adjust for the run off. Very happy with the purchase!
I am one of the earliest customers Astrodome, I bought it and didn’t set it up for almost a year. By the time we set it up, we were blown away by the beauty of this space we purchased it on a mountain ledge in our glamping retreat in Lake County California two hours north of San as much as I love this space there are definitely some challenges with it in our location. It might work better than other locations, but we have had problems with the stakes, slipping and collapsing in the ground beneath and with the prevailing winds, it did stay up and it stays dry, even in tornadoes, but because the wind hits it from One Direction coming from the coast, this is definitely been a challenge for us we are going to try adding some weight inside it. The guests absolutely love this space keep in mind that with those skylights it’s going to get hot in the summertime but what’s nice is in the winter. It heats up almost passive solar. it’s also wonderful with a woodstove. A very cost effective alternative to a geodesic dome! If you want to experience it stay in ours, on Hipcamp.
I bought one of these at Scheels and absolutely love it. Great design, has everything you would ever need in a first aid/trauma/survival kit. Have one in all of my vehicles now. These guys truly thought of everything
A complete coverage of possibilities for my project and needs.
I love my new tent stove. Costumer service was also attentive and great to work with. Thank you.
The mounts work perfect with the truck bed rack I have on. Thank you for the excellent line of communication. You guys never kept me in the dark. I will ordering from you guys again.
I was wondering if you are able to sell just two extra mounts or do they just come in a set of six.
The color was even better in person. For well, looks well made and was easy to fold up and put into the carrying case. There was a bunch of colored plastic pieces from manufacturing on the mat, but I was able to vacuum it right up so be careful pulling it out.
Although it took a little extra time the delay very of my OVS Truck Topper was great. Good price too!
Fully engaged with customer, helped me get the crossbar I needed on time!
Product worked out great for my rack setup.
Order was delayed due to manufacturer delays, but my questions were answered and expectations on timing reset along the way. Cross bars were in perfect condition and work great!
I was in the market for a 3/4 length roof rack for my 4Runner as I wanted an upgrade from the OEM rails but still wanted to retain a somewhat OEM look. I am very happy that I went with the Sherpa Needle. It is a high quality rack with the best install method out of all the racks I looked at. I like that it is designed so you don’t have to deal with a mess of silicone when mounting. It is also nice that the fairing sits just above the roof instead of resting on it so that the paint does not get scratched. I was worried about wind noise because of this but I am happy to say there is no added wind noise at all.
I am also glad I purchased this rack through Live More Outside. I shopped around and they had the best pricing considering I was able to get a discount code, shipping was free, and they don’t charge sales tax. Shipping was prompt and I received the rack sooner than I thought I would.
Overall I am very pleased with this purchase and I will definitely come back to Live More Outside as I continue to build my rig.
By far one of the best customer service! Nathan has been a huge help on any questions and quick to respond! Live more outside is top notch. We are getting ready to hit our first outing with our new RTT. Cant wait to test it out. We also just purchased a 270 awning. I found one on another website but wanted to keep my business with live more outside. Nathan price matched and beat their price! We will continue to keep our business with this company!
