PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Command attention with the Double-Headed Medieval Battle Axe – Lord of Battles, a striking handcrafted axe inspired by historic medieval and Nordic axe designs. Built around an imposing symmetrical double-head profile, this piece combines forged carbon steel, burnt ash wood, traditional leather wrapping, and an included leather blade cover.
At approximately 32 inches overall, the Lord of Battles has the substantial proportions expected from a full-size medieval-style axe. Its dramatic double-headed design immediately sets it apart from compact hatchets and smaller display axes.
The axe head measures approximately 11 inches wide, with a 10-inch cutting edge, creating the broad crescent-shaped profile visible in the product photography.
Forged Carbon Steel Double Axe Head
The centerpiece is its forged carbon steel head.
Rather than using a single cutting profile, the Lord of Battles features opposing crescent-shaped edges, producing the unmistakable silhouette associated with legendary double-headed axes.
The dark forged finish across the main body contrasts beautifully against the brighter polished cutting edges. This two-tone appearance highlights the sweeping geometry of the head while preserving a rugged, traditional forged character.
Small variations in forge texture and finishing are natural characteristics of individually crafted steel pieces and help distinguish each axe.
32-Inch Full-Size Construction
With an overall length of approximately 32 inches, this isn't a miniature interpretation of a medieval axe.
The extended handle creates dramatic proportions and gives the axe the visual presence that makes this style so popular among collectors, medieval enthusiasts, historical décor fans, and people looking for unusual handcrafted gifts.
Burnt Ash Wood Handle
A substantial axe head deserves an equally distinctive handle.
The burnt ash wood handle showcases prominent natural grain running along its length. The burnt treatment emphasizes the wood's texture and creates a weathered, old-world appearance that complements the dark forged steel.
The handle also incorporates traditional-looking leather wrapping and lacing details visible in the design. These elements reinforce the medieval aesthetic while providing additional texture around key grip areas.
Natural wood varies from piece to piece, meaning grain patterns and coloration may differ slightly between individual axes.
Double-Headed Medieval Design
The defining feature is undoubtedly its symmetrical double-head construction.
Two broad crescent-shaped sections extend from opposite sides of the central head, creating a bold silhouette reminiscent of legendary axes depicted throughout medieval-inspired artwork and fantasy traditions.
The shape gives this model considerably more visual presence than a conventional single-head axe.
For customers building a Viking, Norse, medieval, rustic, or historical-inspired collection, the Lord of Battles makes an impressive centerpiece.
Leather Cover Included
A leather blade cover is included for protecting the cutting edges during storage.
Leather naturally complements forged steel and burnt wood, preserving the traditional handcrafted appearance instead of introducing modern synthetic materials into the design.
When the axe isn't being displayed, keeping its edges covered can also help protect both the sharpened surfaces and surrounding objects.
A Distinctive Medieval Collector's Piece
The Lord of Battles isn't designed to disappear into the background.
Its 32-inch length, wide double head, dark forged finish, bright edges, natural ash handle and leather details create an immediately recognizable medieval aesthetic.
Display it in a rustic cabin, workshop, medieval-themed room, historical collection, or alongside other handcrafted axes.
It also makes an impressive gift for someone interested in Viking history, medieval craftsmanship, Nordic culture, historical reproductions, fantasy-inspired décor, blacksmithing, or traditional forged steelwork.
Handmade Character
Handcrafted products naturally show subtle differences.
Wood grain, burning patterns, leather coloration, forge marks and steel finishing may vary slightly from one piece to another. Rather than making every axe look factory-identical, these variations contribute to its traditional handcrafted appearance.
Carbon Steel Care
Carbon steel should be kept clean and dry.
After handling or exposure to moisture, wipe the steel thoroughly with a dry cloth. Applying a thin coating of suitable protective oil periodically can help minimize oxidation during long-term storage.
Store the axe in a dry environment and avoid leaving the carbon steel exposed to water or high humidity for extended periods.
The burnt ash wood and leather components should likewise be kept away from prolonged moisture.

I'm very pleased with this tent after having it for two years I've been in the rain I've been in the snow and it's held up pretty good but the cover that covers it did not hold up that good but the tent is perfect
Really enjoy the awning. Easy setup and got a little rain on the first trip. Easy to adjust for the run off. Very happy with the purchase!
I am one of the earliest customers Astrodome, I bought it and didn’t set it up for almost a year. By the time we set it up, we were blown away by the beauty of this space we purchased it on a mountain ledge in our glamping retreat in Lake County California two hours north of San as much as I love this space there are definitely some challenges with it in our location. It might work better than other locations, but we have had problems with the stakes, slipping and collapsing in the ground beneath and with the prevailing winds, it did stay up and it stays dry, even in tornadoes, but because the wind hits it from One Direction coming from the coast, this is definitely been a challenge for us we are going to try adding some weight inside it. The guests absolutely love this space keep in mind that with those skylights it’s going to get hot in the summertime but what’s nice is in the winter. It heats up almost passive solar. it’s also wonderful with a woodstove. A very cost effective alternative to a geodesic dome! If you want to experience it stay in ours, on Hipcamp.
I bought one of these at Scheels and absolutely love it. Great design, has everything you would ever need in a first aid/trauma/survival kit. Have one in all of my vehicles now. These guys truly thought of everything
A complete coverage of possibilities for my project and needs.
I love my new tent stove. Costumer service was also attentive and great to work with. Thank you.
The mounts work perfect with the truck bed rack I have on. Thank you for the excellent line of communication. You guys never kept me in the dark. I will ordering from you guys again.
I was wondering if you are able to sell just two extra mounts or do they just come in a set of six.
The color was even better in person. For well, looks well made and was easy to fold up and put into the carrying case. There was a bunch of colored plastic pieces from manufacturing on the mat, but I was able to vacuum it right up so be careful pulling it out.
Although it took a little extra time the delay very of my OVS Truck Topper was great. Good price too!
Fully engaged with customer, helped me get the crossbar I needed on time!
Product worked out great for my rack setup.
Order was delayed due to manufacturer delays, but my questions were answered and expectations on timing reset along the way. Cross bars were in perfect condition and work great!
I was in the market for a 3/4 length roof rack for my 4Runner as I wanted an upgrade from the OEM rails but still wanted to retain a somewhat OEM look. I am very happy that I went with the Sherpa Needle. It is a high quality rack with the best install method out of all the racks I looked at. I like that it is designed so you don’t have to deal with a mess of silicone when mounting. It is also nice that the fairing sits just above the roof instead of resting on it so that the paint does not get scratched. I was worried about wind noise because of this but I am happy to say there is no added wind noise at all.
I am also glad I purchased this rack through Live More Outside. I shopped around and they had the best pricing considering I was able to get a discount code, shipping was free, and they don’t charge sales tax. Shipping was prompt and I received the rack sooner than I thought I would.
Overall I am very pleased with this purchase and I will definitely come back to Live More Outside as I continue to build my rig.
By far one of the best customer service! Nathan has been a huge help on any questions and quick to respond! Live more outside is top notch. We are getting ready to hit our first outing with our new RTT. Cant wait to test it out. We also just purchased a 270 awning. I found one on another website but wanted to keep my business with live more outside. Nathan price matched and beat their price! We will continue to keep our business with this company!
