This Damascus bull cutter knife measures 7 inches overall with a wide wave-pattern Damascus blade and a multi-color rainbow resin handle. A Christian cross design is etched onto the blade flat near the spine. A steel bolster sits between the blade and handle. A white pin locks the handle scales to the full tang. A lanyard hole sits at the base of the handle for cord attachment during outdoor carry or wall display. No sheath is included.

The History Behind This Blade
The bull cutter blade profile has roots in American ranch and livestock culture of the 1800s, where a short, wide blade with a straight cutting edge handled heavy daily work that narrow blades could not manage cleanly. Christian cross engravings on blades have appeared across knife-making traditions from medieval Europe through to American frontier culture — a mark of faith carried into the field on a working tool. Multi-color resin handle construction developed from the American craft knife tradition of layering colored materials into dense resin blocks, turning every handle into a visually distinct piece. The JW Steel Crafts Damascus cross bull cutter brings all three of those traditions into one working knife.
Blade Performance
The blade is forged from layered Damascus steel in a wave pattern finish. The layered structure builds consistent edge retention and cutting strength through heavy daily and outdoor use. The wharncliffe bull cutter profile keeps the cutting edge straight and flat for controlled push cuts through meat, joints, rope, and camp materials. There is no belly curve to redirect force — every stroke lands clean and direct.
A Christian cross design is etched onto the blade flat near the spine as a permanent maker's detail. Full tang construction runs the complete length of the rainbow resin handle and spreads weight evenly from blade tip to handle base for stable cutting throughout field use.
Handle Construction
The handle is shaped from multi-color rainbow resin. Bold horizontal stripes in red, blue, yellow, green, orange, teal, and additional colors run the full length of the handle scales. The stripe pattern runs deep through the full material — it does not fade, chip, or peel through heavy outdoor or camp use. Resin does not absorb moisture, does not swell in wet conditions, and holds its surface finish equally well in heat and cold. A steel bolster sits between the blade and handle, adding front-end weight for better cutting balance. A white pin locks the handle scales firmly to the full tang. I am one of the earliest customers Astrodome, I bought it and didn’t set it up for almost a year. By the time we set it up, we were blown away by the beauty of this space we purchased it on a mountain ledge in our glamping retreat in Lake County California two hours north of San as much as I love this space there are definitely some challenges with it in our location. It might work better than other locations, but we have had problems with the stakes, slipping and collapsing in the ground beneath and with the prevailing winds, it did stay up and it stays dry, even in tornadoes, but because the wind hits it from One Direction coming from the coast, this is definitely been a challenge for us we are going to try adding some weight inside it. The guests absolutely love this space keep in mind that with those skylights it’s going to get hot in the summertime but what’s nice is in the winter. It heats up almost passive solar. it’s also wonderful with a woodstove. A very cost effective alternative to a geodesic dome! If you want to experience it stay in ours, on Hipcamp.

I was wondering if you are able to sell just two extra mounts or do they just come in a set of six.
The color was even better in person. For well, looks well made and was easy to fold up and put into the carrying case. There was a bunch of colored plastic pieces from manufacturing on the mat, but I was able to vacuum it right up so be careful pulling it out.

I was in the market for a 3/4 length roof rack for my 4Runner as I wanted an upgrade from the OEM rails but still wanted to retain a somewhat OEM look. I am very happy that I went with the Sherpa Needle. It is a high quality rack with the best install method out of all the racks I looked at. I like that it is designed so you don’t have to deal with a mess of silicone when mounting. It is also nice that the fairing sits just above the roof instead of resting on it so that the paint does not get scratched. I was worried about wind noise because of this but I am happy to say there is no added wind noise at all.
