PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The Country Rasp Cowboy Knife – Green Pine Cone Handle with Tooled Front Belt Sheath is a handcrafted Western fixed blade designed for ranchers, cowboys, hunters, outdoorsmen, and collectors who appreciate traditional materials combined with distinctive handmade craftsmanship. Measuring approximately 8 inches overall with a 4-inch rasp steel blade, this knife offers a practical compact profile for everyday ranch, field, and outdoor cutting tasks.
Its standout feature is the striking green pine cone handle, where natural pine cone structure creates an organic pattern throughout the grip. A polished steel bolster provides a clean transition between the handle and blade, while the rasp-textured upper blade gives the knife the rugged character associated with traditional handmade ranch knives.
The complete knife is paired with a premium hand-tooled front belt leather sheath featuring detailed Western floral artwork, contrasting leather tones, heavy stitching, and integrated belt slots. Together, the knife and sheath create a distinctive Western package suitable for practical use, collection, or gifting.
Every piece is individually hand-finished by Sham Knives.
What Is a Country Rasp Cowboy Knife?
A cowboy knife is traditionally built around simplicity, practical proportions, comfortable belt carry, and dependable cutting control.
This design follows that philosophy while adding the rugged character of rasp steel.
At approximately 8 inches overall, it is large enough to provide a substantial grip and useful cutting edge without becoming unnecessarily cumbersome on the belt.
The 4-inch blade is particularly well suited to buyers looking for a manageable ranch knife rather than an oversized fixed blade.
The result is a compact Western knife that combines the visual heritage of handcrafted ranch equipment with materials that give every piece its own personality.
Rasp Steel Blade With Traditional File Texture
The rasp steel blade is one of the defining elements of this knife.
A distinctive crosshatched rasp pattern remains visible along the upper portion of the blade, contrasting sharply against the polished lower section and cutting edge.
Instead of hiding the material's rugged origins, this finish makes the rasp texture an important part of the knife's appearance.
The approximately 4-inch blade has a broad, gently curved cutting profile suited to controlled field and ranch cutting tasks.
This combination of polished steel and retained rasp texture creates the traditional blacksmith-inspired appearance that makes rasp knives especially popular among Western knife collectors.
Why a 4-Inch Blade Works for Ranch Carry
A ranch knife does not need an oversized blade to be useful.
The 4-inch blade provides a practical balance between cutting length and maneuverability. Combined with the 8-inch overall profile, it keeps the knife compact enough for convenient belt carry.
Its curved cutting edge also gives the knife the recognizable shape associated with many traditional cowboy, hunting, and skinning-style fixed blades.
For ranchers and outdoorsmen who prefer a knife that remains close to the body while working, these compact proportions can be particularly convenient.
Green Pine Cone Handle
The green pine cone handle gives this knife its strongest visual identity.
Natural pine cone material creates irregular organic patterns through the grip, while the rich green coloration produces a striking contrast against the polished steel blade.
Because of the natural structure of pine cone material, no two handle patterns should be expected to look completely identical.
That variation is part of the appeal of a handmade knife.
The handle is secured with metal pins, creating subtle bright accents against the green and natural pine cone pattern.
Polished Steel Bolster
A polished steel bolster separates the blade from the handle.
The bolster gives the front of the grip a clean, finished appearance while creating a smooth transition between the contrasting materials.
Visually, the bright bolster works especially well with this particular design because it connects the polished blade finish to the colorful pine cone handle.
Together, the rasp-textured blade, steel bolster, and green pine cone create a knife that immediately stands apart from ordinary factory-produced ranch knives.
Hand-Tooled Front Belt Leather Sheath
The included hand-tooled front belt sheath is designed as an important part of the complete knife rather than simply an accessory.
Its detailed Western floral pattern gives the sheath a classic cowboy character. The orange-brown tooling contrasts with the darker leather background and black edging, while prominent stitching emphasizes its handcrafted appearance.
Integrated belt slots allow the sheath to be worn securely on a belt.
The broad leather construction also helps keep the knife positioned close to the wearer instead of allowing it to swing freely like some conventional hanging sheaths.
For buyers who appreciate traditional Western leather craftsmanship, the sheath is one of the strongest features of this set.
Handmade Western Craftsmanship
This knife brings together several materials associated with handcrafted Western-style blades:
Rasp steel, green pine cone, polished steel, and hand-tooled leather.
Each material contributes something different.
The rasp texture provides rugged character. The polished cutting section creates contrast. The green pine cone gives the handle individuality, while the steel bolster provides a refined transition.
Finally, the floral leather sheath completes the cowboy-inspired appearance.
Because these knives are individually hand-finished, minor differences in handle patterns, steel texture, leather coloration, and tooling are natural characteristics rather than defects.
Functional Ranch & Field Use
With an overall length of approximately 8 inches, this knife provides a compact fixed-blade format for appropriate ranch, hunting, outdoor, and field cutting tasks.
The four-inch blade keeps the knife manageable while the full handle provides sufficient gripping area.
When carrying the knife, make sure it is properly seated inside its leather sheath.
Always follow the knife ownership and carry regulations applicable to your location.
Care & Maintenance
Rasp and high-carbon-type steels require sensible maintenance to preserve their appearance.
After use, wipe the blade completely clean and dry. A very thin coating of mineral oil or appropriate blade-protection oil can be applied periodically to exposed steel.
Do not leave the blade wet, especially after outdoor use.
Leather should also be allowed to remain clean and dry. If the sheath becomes wet, allow it to air-dry naturally rather than placing it against a strong heat source.
For long-term storage, keep the cleaned and lightly oiled blade outside the leather sheath to reduce prolonged exposure to trapped moisture.
A Unique Cowboy & Rancher Gift
The combination of a handmade knife and decorative leatherwork makes this an excellent gift for someone who appreciates Western culture and traditional craftsmanship.
It is especially suitable for cowboys, ranchers, hunters, farmers, outdoorsmen, Western collectors, and handmade knife enthusiasts.
The green pine cone handle gives the knife an unusual appearance that makes it particularly memorable as a birthday, Father's Day, anniversary, Christmas, or rancher gift.

I'm very pleased with this tent after having it for two years I've been in the rain I've been in the snow and it's held up pretty good but the cover that covers it did not hold up that good but the tent is perfect
Really enjoy the awning. Easy setup and got a little rain on the first trip. Easy to adjust for the run off. Very happy with the purchase!
I am one of the earliest customers Astrodome, I bought it and didn’t set it up for almost a year. By the time we set it up, we were blown away by the beauty of this space we purchased it on a mountain ledge in our glamping retreat in Lake County California two hours north of San as much as I love this space there are definitely some challenges with it in our location. It might work better than other locations, but we have had problems with the stakes, slipping and collapsing in the ground beneath and with the prevailing winds, it did stay up and it stays dry, even in tornadoes, but because the wind hits it from One Direction coming from the coast, this is definitely been a challenge for us we are going to try adding some weight inside it. The guests absolutely love this space keep in mind that with those skylights it’s going to get hot in the summertime but what’s nice is in the winter. It heats up almost passive solar. it’s also wonderful with a woodstove. A very cost effective alternative to a geodesic dome! If you want to experience it stay in ours, on Hipcamp.
I bought one of these at Scheels and absolutely love it. Great design, has everything you would ever need in a first aid/trauma/survival kit. Have one in all of my vehicles now. These guys truly thought of everything
A complete coverage of possibilities for my project and needs.
I love my new tent stove. Costumer service was also attentive and great to work with. Thank you.
The mounts work perfect with the truck bed rack I have on. Thank you for the excellent line of communication. You guys never kept me in the dark. I will ordering from you guys again.
I was wondering if you are able to sell just two extra mounts or do they just come in a set of six.
The color was even better in person. For well, looks well made and was easy to fold up and put into the carrying case. There was a bunch of colored plastic pieces from manufacturing on the mat, but I was able to vacuum it right up so be careful pulling it out.
Although it took a little extra time the delay very of my OVS Truck Topper was great. Good price too!
Fully engaged with customer, helped me get the crossbar I needed on time!
Product worked out great for my rack setup.
Order was delayed due to manufacturer delays, but my questions were answered and expectations on timing reset along the way. Cross bars were in perfect condition and work great!
I was in the market for a 3/4 length roof rack for my 4Runner as I wanted an upgrade from the OEM rails but still wanted to retain a somewhat OEM look. I am very happy that I went with the Sherpa Needle. It is a high quality rack with the best install method out of all the racks I looked at. I like that it is designed so you don’t have to deal with a mess of silicone when mounting. It is also nice that the fairing sits just above the roof instead of resting on it so that the paint does not get scratched. I was worried about wind noise because of this but I am happy to say there is no added wind noise at all.
I am also glad I purchased this rack through Live More Outside. I shopped around and they had the best pricing considering I was able to get a discount code, shipping was free, and they don’t charge sales tax. Shipping was prompt and I received the rack sooner than I thought I would.
Overall I am very pleased with this purchase and I will definitely come back to Live More Outside as I continue to build my rig.
By far one of the best customer service! Nathan has been a huge help on any questions and quick to respond! Live more outside is top notch. We are getting ready to hit our first outing with our new RTT. Cant wait to test it out. We also just purchased a 270 awning. I found one on another website but wanted to keep my business with live more outside. Nathan price matched and beat their price! We will continue to keep our business with this company!
