PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The Buckaroo Sheath Knife With Coloured Bone Handle – D2 Acid wash combines compact cutting performance with bold Western styling and traditional handmade details. Created for hunters, ranchers, campers, farmers, outdoorsmen, and collectors, this distinctive sheath knife features a 3.75-inch D2 steel blade, a polished yellow coloured-bone handle, a brass bolster, decorative pins, and a stitched leather sheath.
Measuring 7.5 inches overall, the knife offers a practical balance between portability and control. Its compact dimensions make it easy to carry on a belt or inside an outdoor pack, while the broad blade provides sufficient cutting surface for skinning, field dressing, slicing, and everyday ranch work.
The dark acid-washed blade creates an attractive contrast against the vivid yellow handle and polished brass bolster. Every component contributes to a traditional Buckaroo design that feels equally suitable for outdoor use, Western display, or gift presentation.
D2 Steel Blade
The knife features a 3.75-inch D2 tool steel blade. D2 is widely used in quality working knives because it offers high wear resistance, good strength, and dependable edge retention. It is particularly useful for owners who want a cutting edge that can remain sharp through repeated controlled use.
The broad blade profile provides a generous cutting belly for skinning and sweeping cuts. Its gradually narrowing tip supports more precise work when careful blade placement is required. These qualities make the profile practical for hunters who need control during field dressing, as well as ranchers completing daily cutting tasks.
The blade may also be used for cutting rope, trimming leather, opening feed sacks, slicing packaging, preparing light campsite materials, and completing similar outdoor jobs. It is intended for controlled cutting and should not be used for prying, digging, striking, or heavy chopping.
Distinctive Acid-Wash Finish
An acid-wash treatment gives the D2 blade its dark, rugged appearance. Unlike a highly reflective mirror polish, the subdued surface complements the practical character of a working Buckaroo knife.
The finish creates a strong visual contrast with the bright yellow bone handle and polished brass bolster. It also helps reduce the visibility of minor marks that may develop through ordinary use. However, an acid-wash finish does not make steel completely resistant to corrosion. Regular cleaning, drying, and light oiling are still essential.
Subtle shade and texture variations may occur across an acid-washed blade. These differences contribute to its handcrafted appearance and should not be considered faults.
Yellow Coloured-Bone Handle
The most immediately recognizable feature is its yellow coloured-bone handle. The polished bone presents warm yellow, golden, and lightly shaded tones that give the knife an unmistakable identity.
Bone is a traditional knife-handle material valued for its firm feel, classic appearance, and ability to take on attractive colors and finishes. Unlike uniform synthetic handles, coloured bone can display small differences in shade and natural surface character. These variations help ensure that each finished knife looks slightly individual.
The gently curved handle follows the palm and supports a comfortable, controlled grip. Its smooth profile avoids unnecessary bulk, helping the knife remain manageable during detailed cutting work.
Because dyed or coloured bone can vary naturally, the exact yellow tone may differ slightly from the product photograph. Differences in lighting, display settings, and the individual bone piece can also affect its appearance.
Brass Bolster and Decorative Pins
A polished brass bolster separates the blade from the yellow bone handle. The golden brass coordinates naturally with the handle’s warm coloration and creates a refined Western presentation.
A slim dark spacer provides definition between the brass and bone sections. Decorative mosaic-style pins secure the components and add subtle handcrafted detail without making the design appear overly ornate.
A brown leather lanyard is attached through the rear of the handle. This feature enhances the rustic Buckaroo styling and may help the owner retrieve the knife from its sheath.
Together, the acid-washed D2 blade, coloured bone, brass bolster, dark spacer, decorative pins, and leather lanyard produce a memorable combination of traditional and contemporary craftsmanship.
Compact 7.5-Inch Design
With an overall length of 7.5 inches, this Buckaroo sheath knife is compact enough for comfortable carry and large enough to complete many practical outdoor cutting jobs.
The 3.75-inch blade gives the user close control over the cutting edge. For detailed skinning and field work, a manageable blade can be easier to guide than a much larger design. Its size also reduces unnecessary weight during long hunting trips, ranch work, or camping excursions.
The handle supplies enough gripping area for secure control while keeping the overall profile streamlined. These balanced proportions make the knife a dependable option for users who prefer compact working knives.
Leather Belt Sheath
The included brown leather sheath completes the knife’s traditional Western presentation. Visible details include contrasting stitching, finished edges, and decorative leatherwork.
A quality sheath helps protect the blade during transportation and provides a convenient method of carrying the knife. Its warm brown color complements the leather lanyard, brass fitting, and yellow bone handle.
Leather is a natural material and may vary slightly in shade, tooling, texture, and stitching. With regular use, it can develop a rich patina that reflects the owner’s individual carrying habits.
If the sheath becomes wet, remove the knife and allow both items to dry separately at room temperature. Do not place the wet knife back inside the sheath, and avoid drying the leather with direct heat.
Made for Skinning and Outdoor Work
The knife’s broad cutting profile, curved belly, controlled point, and compact dimensions make it suitable for skinning and field-dressing tasks. The belly allows smooth, sweeping movements, while the tip can assist with detailed cutting.
Around a ranch or campsite, it can be used for cutting rope, opening bags, trimming material, slicing packaging, preparing light kindling shavings, and performing other routine jobs.
This knife is designed for responsible cutting use. Avoid using it as a pry bar, hammer, screwdriver, digging tool, or heavy chopper. Proper use will help preserve its point, edge, handle, and overall construction.
Traditional Buckaroo Character
The word “Buckaroo” is strongly connected to the working traditions of cowboys and ranchers in the American West. This knife reflects that heritage through its compact utility-focused shape, natural bone handle, brass bolster, leather lanyard, and traditional sheath.
Its bright yellow handle introduces a distinctive modern accent while maintaining the character of a classic Western belt knife. The result is a piece that can be used in the field, carried around the ranch, or displayed as part of a handmade knife collection.
A Memorable Western Gift
This Buckaroo sheath knife makes a thoughtful gift for hunters, cowboys, ranchers, farmers, campers, outdoorsmen, and collectors of handcrafted knives. It is suitable for birthdays, anniversaries, Father’s Day, graduations, Christmas, retirements, ranch celebrations, and other special occasions.
The vivid yellow handle makes it especially appealing to someone who appreciates bold colors and individual craftsmanship. Combined with its leather sheath, the knife arrives as a complete and visually impressive set.
Blade Care and Maintenance
D2 steel provides better corrosion resistance than many traditional high-carbon steels, but it is not completely rustproof. Clean the blade after every use and dry it thoroughly.
Apply a light coating of knife-safe mineral oil before storage, particularly after exposure to water, humidity, blood, or acidic substances. Do not place the knife in a dishwasher or leave it submerged in water.
For long-term storage, keep the lightly oiled knife in a cool, dry location outside the leather sheath. Leather can retain environmental moisture, which may affect the blade if it remains stored inside for extended periods.
Sharpen the cutting edge with an appropriate whetstone or guided sharpening system. Maintain a consistent sharpening angle and remove only the steel required to restore the edge.
Coloured-Bone Handle Care
Clean the coloured-bone handle with a soft, slightly damp cloth, then dry it immediately. Avoid prolonged water exposure, strong chemicals, direct heat, and rapid temperature changes.
Do not use abrasive cleaning products because they may affect the polished finish or colored surface. Proper care will help retain the handle’s vibrant appearance and traditional character.

I'm very pleased with this tent after having it for two years I've been in the rain I've been in the snow and it's held up pretty good but the cover that covers it did not hold up that good but the tent is perfect
Really enjoy the awning. Easy setup and got a little rain on the first trip. Easy to adjust for the run off. Very happy with the purchase!
I am one of the earliest customers Astrodome, I bought it and didn’t set it up for almost a year. By the time we set it up, we were blown away by the beauty of this space we purchased it on a mountain ledge in our glamping retreat in Lake County California two hours north of San as much as I love this space there are definitely some challenges with it in our location. It might work better than other locations, but we have had problems with the stakes, slipping and collapsing in the ground beneath and with the prevailing winds, it did stay up and it stays dry, even in tornadoes, but because the wind hits it from One Direction coming from the coast, this is definitely been a challenge for us we are going to try adding some weight inside it. The guests absolutely love this space keep in mind that with those skylights it’s going to get hot in the summertime but what’s nice is in the winter. It heats up almost passive solar. it’s also wonderful with a woodstove. A very cost effective alternative to a geodesic dome! If you want to experience it stay in ours, on Hipcamp.
I bought one of these at Scheels and absolutely love it. Great design, has everything you would ever need in a first aid/trauma/survival kit. Have one in all of my vehicles now. These guys truly thought of everything
A complete coverage of possibilities for my project and needs.
I love my new tent stove. Costumer service was also attentive and great to work with. Thank you.
The mounts work perfect with the truck bed rack I have on. Thank you for the excellent line of communication. You guys never kept me in the dark. I will ordering from you guys again.
I was wondering if you are able to sell just two extra mounts or do they just come in a set of six.
The color was even better in person. For well, looks well made and was easy to fold up and put into the carrying case. There was a bunch of colored plastic pieces from manufacturing on the mat, but I was able to vacuum it right up so be careful pulling it out.
Although it took a little extra time the delay very of my OVS Truck Topper was great. Good price too!
Fully engaged with customer, helped me get the crossbar I needed on time!
Product worked out great for my rack setup.
Order was delayed due to manufacturer delays, but my questions were answered and expectations on timing reset along the way. Cross bars were in perfect condition and work great!
I was in the market for a 3/4 length roof rack for my 4Runner as I wanted an upgrade from the OEM rails but still wanted to retain a somewhat OEM look. I am very happy that I went with the Sherpa Needle. It is a high quality rack with the best install method out of all the racks I looked at. I like that it is designed so you don’t have to deal with a mess of silicone when mounting. It is also nice that the fairing sits just above the roof instead of resting on it so that the paint does not get scratched. I was worried about wind noise because of this but I am happy to say there is no added wind noise at all.
I am also glad I purchased this rack through Live More Outside. I shopped around and they had the best pricing considering I was able to get a discount code, shipping was free, and they don’t charge sales tax. Shipping was prompt and I received the rack sooner than I thought I would.
Overall I am very pleased with this purchase and I will definitely come back to Live More Outside as I continue to build my rig.
By far one of the best customer service! Nathan has been a huge help on any questions and quick to respond! Live more outside is top notch. We are getting ready to hit our first outing with our new RTT. Cant wait to test it out. We also just purchased a 270 awning. I found one on another website but wanted to keep my business with live more outside. Nathan price matched and beat their price! We will continue to keep our business with this company!
